this is a really simple tutorial! it should only take you 30 minutes once you gather all your paper and supplies.
hope you enjoy and have fun decorating your drawers!
hope you enjoy and have fun decorating your drawers!
1. i sanded all my drawers down first, since the wood is unfinished. so get all your drawers in place. i would also decide what papers you want to go with what drawer based on what looks best. if you don't care, then just go for it!2. gather all your supplies! here's a list provided with links for you!
Supplies:
- Wood drawers from ikea (These are the fira collection, $14.99)
- Paper! (mine are from martha stewart & paper-source)
- Xacto Knife
- Spray Mount or glue, although spray mount works a lot better (super 77 works the best)
- Brayer
- Scissors
- Cutting Mat
- Pen
3. match the drawer to the edge of your paper. place on cutting mat and simply xacto out your piece. you only have to do it for one side and the back since the other side should be lined up with the edge. draw the inner groove part with a pen so you have the outline.4. when the piece is cut out, use scissors to trim the inner grove.
5. using your spray mount, lightly spray the back of your cut out piece. place on your drawer.6. use your brayer to smooth out any bubbles or rough spots.
7 & 8. there is really no step here, i'm not sure why i numbered these, hehe. but this is your final product! hurray, good job!
